Back to School Shopping…Already?

Published by rhonda at 5:00 am under Just for Fun, Misc., Summer, parents Edit This

Did you hear? Apparently, it’s that time again. Big stores and retailers are already marking down prices and offering sales for clothing and school supplies, earlier than ever this year. It is being compared to Christmas shopping that begins right after Thanksgiving.

This could mean good news for those who don’t want to wait until the last minute to do shopping for the 08-09 school year. Some of the best deals may be available now.

Of course, as much as I like sales and shopping ahead of time, you can never count out the great deals all these companies may decide to throw at consumers in the final weeks before the school bells start ringing.

And who wants to completely forgo the mad dash for the classic spiral binders that are often priced so cheaply before schools start? You don’t want to miss out on the chance to get those babies for mere cents, or miss out on seeing the mess the school supplies aisle becomes at your favorite store. Smile

My two youngest children actually start school TOMORROW, so for us, having all the supplies out now is so awesome. Often times, our kids return to school without everything because its hard to find.

We’re in year-round school and tomorrow marks the first official day of the new school year.

We always pre-buy a bunch for the following year, so its nice when we can pull a bag out of the closet and be ready. :D

Yes, this is good news for those families with year-round school, and I suspect that is where many districts will be headed someday.

Hopefully, this new consumer trend will help out.
