Free Lunch Programs for Kids!
It turns out there is such a thing as a free lunch.
Lots of school districts around the country offer lunch programs in their city and community. This is to help ensure that lots of kids will get proper nutrition during the summer.
Most of the time, there are no income qualifications for free lunch. There may be an age limit, and children are often required to eat the lunch at the location the food is served. Sometimes school districts use school buildings, while others team up with the city department to serve box lunches in parks (which I think is a great idea). Many of these programs allow parents to purchase lunches for themselves at a very low cost.
The school district’s website is the best place to check and see if your local schools are are offering free lunches. You can also watch for announcements in the local newspaper, check the newspaper and/or local news affiliate website.
Hopefully, your community has a free lunch program for children you know and love!
