A Practical Graduation Speech
Continuing the theme this week on advice found in graduation speeches……
This “Clip-and-Save” Commencement Address includes what I believe to be some really good advice for young folks heading out into the world. It contains truths as well as practical advice for marriage, health, finding the right job, and managing one’s finances. It is simple, short, and to the point.
On heading out into the great world of career and opportunity, allow me to interject some of my own advice here: be humble. Although you now hold a certificate of your academic ability, employers have said time and again they need workers who have:
* Common sense
* The willingness to learn
* The ability to work well with other people
These things are worth a lot more than a degree, and cost no money. Lacking these however, could very well cost you a job.
